CLASSROOM VOLUNTEERS

Below is a list of classroom volunteer needs:

Room Parent – one or more per classroom
The Room Parent works with and supports the teacher in the following ways (may include some or all - varies by teacher)
•  Party/Celebration Coordinator – with the collaboration and buy-in of the teacher, organizes classroom parties.
•  Field Trip Coordination - coordinate field trip paperwork including permission slips, participation fees and meal arrangements (potluck, brown bag or school lunches) as needed by the teacher
•  Teacher Gifts - (birthdays, holidays, teacher appreciation and end of the year) – none of our teachers expect gifts, but class gifts create a more inclusive environment (regardless of whether everyone in the class donated to the gift or not); sometimes asking a teacher to complete a simple questionnaire can help make teacher gifts a little more personal

Adopt-a-Family Class Coordinator – one or more per classroom
Help coordinate classroom gifts and donations for this school-wide clothing and gift drive during the holidays for community members in need.

Art Docent – one or more per classroom
Teach the students in your child’s class to appreciate and create art.  Lessons, materials and moral support are provided! (No art experience required).  Supplies, materials and other guidance can be obtained through the Art Docent School Coordinator.

Art Day Volunteers – two or more per classroom
Escort local artists to classrooms, assist with activity and join them at hospitality luncheon.

Auction Project Coordinator – one or more per classroom
Help coordinate classroom donations and creativity to pull together one of the auction’s highest grossing items that will be auctioned off live.

BookParents Program
Read to a class for 30 minutes each week throughout the year. Book lists provided.
